PHILADELPHIA: Philadelphia Theatre Company (PTC) has named Margo Moskowitz their new managing director. Moskowitz, the company’s former general manager, has served as interim managing director since Emily Zeck’s departure last September.

“Margo is an incredibly hard worker with a savvy and sophisticated business sense, and we believe she is primed to be a real leader in our field,” artistic directors Taibi Magar and Tyler Dobrowsky said in a joint statement. “As we approach PTC’s 50th season, we can’t wait to open our exciting new chapter with Margo at the helm.”

Moskowitz spent eight years at the Alliance Theatre before coming to PTC, where she has worked in human resources, artist contracting, and company management. She worked on over 75 productions at the Alliance and was a panelist for the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs and the C4 Ignite Arts program. Moskowitz recently served as a member of the 2024 League of Resident Theatres negotiating committee.

“I am thrilled to be on this journey as the newly appointed managing director,” Moskowitz said in a statement. “Next season marks a significant milestone for PTC as we celebrate our 50th anniversary. This is a testament to the resilience, dedication, and passion that have fueled PTC’s journey over the past five decades.”

Additionally, PTC has named Glenn Gundersen their new board chair. Gundersen, a lawyer, first joined the board in 2009 and has chaired 1812 Productions since 2014. Former board president Gary A. Deutsch will continue to serve on the board.

Philadelphia Theatre Company is a civic institution dedicated to the creation of extraordinary experiences that reflect the essential issues and ideas of our time. PTC seeks to engage and strengthen the community through productions of plays and musicals, education programs, and civic partnerships. As of 2022, the theatre had a budget of approximately $3.5 million.
