But Stapleton didn’t just write songs for others. He also performed as a lead singer of the bluegrass band The SteelDrivers, and as a member of the southern rock supergroup The Jompson Brothers. In 2015, he released his solo debut album, Traveller, which won him two Grammy Awards and catapulted him to fame.

Stapleton’s success continued with his next two albums, From A Room: Volume 1 and Volume 2, which showcased his diverse influences and collaborations. He worked with artists like Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran and Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers. He also explored different sounds and themes, from soulful ballads to bluesy rockers.

On his fourth album, Starting Over, Stapleton returned to his roots and recorded most of the songs live with his band at the historic RCA Studio A in Nashville. The album features 14 tracks, 11 of which he co-wrote with his longtime collaborators Mike Henderson and Kendell Marvel. The album also includes three covers of songs by John Fogerty, Guy Clark and Willie Nelson.
