Husband-and-wife duo Jaime Lozano and Florencia Cuenca will perform at the Manhattan cabaret 54 Below February 7.
The artists will offer an evening titled Broadway en Spanglish at 7 PM. The performance will showcase the cultural heritage of Mexico while celebrating the beauty of musical theatre.
Featuring live accompaniment from the Mariachi Real de México de Ramon Ponce, Lozano and Cuenca will breathe new life into classic Broadway tunes with Lozano's fresh arrangements.
Singer-actor-songwriter Cuenca's first album, Aquí—Los Nuevos Standards, was produced by husband Lozano. The recipient of the 2016 Hot House Jazz Award for Best New Jazz Artist, Cuenca has also performed Off-Broadway in Children of Salt (NYMF 2016 Best of Fest) and A Never-Ending Line.
Musician, vocal coach, composer, arranger, orchestrator, musical producer, and musical theatre director Lozano is currently working on his new album, Songs by an Immigrant Vol. 2, part of his project Jaime Lozano and The Familia. The Familia is a group of Broadway and Off-Broadway performers put together by Lozano to sing about their immigrant experience.
