Afinity & Casey Cook – Your Imagination

Afinity and Casey Cook team up on their new single “Your Imagination” for Lost In Dreams.

Based out of Los Angeles, Afinity is the solo project of Ahrya Far, which came to fruition after he splintered off from the former duo Pixel Terror to create lush and vibrant songs in the melodic bass and dubstep space. He’s making his debut on Lost In Dreams Records, teaming up with LA-based, Rhode Island-raised singer-songwriter Casey Cook on their new single. “Your Imagination” pays tribute to the song “Pure Imagination” performed by Gene Wilder in the original ‘Willy Wonka’ film, as Cook repurposes the hook with her saccharine vocal tones that seemingly stretch endlessly above glimmering melodies, gentle piano chords, languid guitar strums, and an ethereal drop evoking an otherworldly state akin to its source material.

Renowned musician and composer Annie Hart is thrilled to announce her fourth full-length studio album, The Weight of A Wave, set to release on August 4th on Uninhabitable Mansions. Her minimal pop songs explore the fringes of new wave, pop, and ambient music; and have been called “sumptuous synth-pop’ by Vogue.

The Weight of A Wave showcases Hart’s undeniable songwriting prowess. Characterized by an eclectic mix of poppy basement rock to energetic krautrock-inspired jams, each song was crafted in what Hart and her friends affectionately call “Song Challenges,” producing a minimum of three songs per session. This technique grants the album an organic and vibrant quality that successfully captures a sense of spontaneity often missed in studio recordings. The lead single from the album, “Stop Staring At You,” epitomizes this unique musical expression. Directed by acclaimed cinematographer and director Benjamin Kasulke, the music video features Hart doing Yvonne Rainer-inspired dance on a glorious beach in Malibu.

SKATERS’ – Girls Like You

10 short years have passed since SKATERS’ formation in Lower East Side Manhattan. Within months of forming and a self-released EP, the band was signed to Warner Brothers Records, toured around the world, had global critical acclaim from NME to the New York Times. Two years later, they released their debut album, Manhattan (2014) with WBR, were dropped, self-released their sophomore album Rock and Roll Bye Bye (2017) independently, and then disappeared. It was a whirlwind ride for the band that came at one of the most difficult transitions in the music industry – the exact time digital downloads plummeted, and streaming had not yet reached the masses. SKATERS were caught in the shuffle, and broke up.

Now, after a lengthy hiatus, SKATERS finally announces their long-awaited return with the release of a new track entitled “Girls Like You,” their first new material since 2017’s sophomore LP.
