The Menier Chocolate Factory's world premiere of the new musical The Third Man plays the London venue June 10-September 9 with an official opening June 19.

Directed by Trevor Nunn, the company is led by Edward Baker-Duly as Calloway, Simon Bailey as Crabbit, Natalie Dunne as Anna, Derek Griffiths as The Porter, Jonathan Andrew Hume as Paine, Rachel Izen as The Porter’s Wife, Gary Milner as Kurtz, Harry Morrison as Popescu, Sam Underwood as Holly, and Alan Vicary as Dr. Winkel with Chanice Alexander-Burnett, Craig Bartley, Cassiopeia Berkeley-Agyepong, Leah Harris, Aly Merali, Tom Sterling, Samantha Thomas, and Tim Walton

The Third Man features music by George Fenton, a book by Christopher Hampton, and lyrics by Don Black. Based on Graham Greene’s story, published as a novella and made into a film, the new musical is set in post-war Vienna as Holly Martins arrives at the invitation of his friend and hero, Harry Lime, only to discover that Harry has been killed in a car accident.

The production also has set and costume design by Paul Farnsworth, lighting design by Emma Chapman, sound design by Gregory Clarke, orchestrations by Jason Carr, musical supervision and direction by Tamara Saringer, and movement and choreography by Rebecca Howell.

The Third Man, originally developed by Vereinigte Bühnen Wien Gmbh in Vienna, sees Nunn renew his collaboration with the Menier, having previously directed Fiddler on the Roof (also West End), Lettice and Lovage, Love in Idleness (also West End), A Little Night Music (also West End and Broadway), and Aspects of Love for the company.

The production is part of a season of three musicals that also includes Close Up—The Twiggy Musical and Stephen Sondheim's Pacific Overtures.
